USA - AVMA launches debt relief program

The American Veterinary Medical Assn. (AVMA), as part of its ongoing effort to bolster the number of food animal veterinarians in the U.S., announced a new initiative to help reverse that downward trend – an educational debt relief program for those veterinarians whose job it is to keep our food animals healthy and our food supply safe.

Vaccine against tapeworm - First field study is positive

A field study with a vaccine against the pork tapeworm, in spite of its name one of the tapeworms affecting humans, was able to break the infection cycle. It is the first time a vaccine against a parasite can eliminate transmission. The study was carried out in Cameroon by Emmanuel Assana, researcher at the Institute of Tropical Medicine Antwerp.

Mexico – Collaboration agreement signed for animal health
