ISU Kolmer Award recognizes research that benefits Iowans
Steve Hoff received the award for his focus on solving problems through research during the past 20 years. His work with odor mitigation strategies seeks to keep applications affordable and easily implemented and managed.
One of his more visible projects is the Community Assessment Model for Odor Dispersion. The model is used to help farmers select sites for new swine facilities that would have less impact on a community. Through his research more than 200 facilities minimized the odor impact on neighbors.
